Ramadan – the holiest month of the Islamic calendar and a time of intense reflection and devotion – is a very special time for Muslims. Manulifers were invited to experience a day of fasting and join our Muslim colleagues in a conversation on the significance of the festivity. This year, we celebrated International Women’s Day by spotlighting our female Manulifers to share and learn from one another. A competitive powerlifter, Eveline How introduced her passion to our colleagues and shared about the health benefits of strength training. Together with her coach Daphne Loo from Strength Avenue, Eveline guided participating colleagues who wanted to try barbell training for themselves at the session. In the spirit of helping fellow colleagues gain more confidence and overcome the fear of speaking up at work, Belinda Wong took the stage to help them find their voices for change-making, career-shaping communication. Colleagues were also encouraged to dress in purple to showcase their support to the cause. At Manulife, we stand for diversity, equity and inclusion. Cheers and laughter filled our brand new Clubhouse at Manulife Tower as Manulife Singapore staff came together for our 2024 kick-off. With around 500 colleagues joining in person and online, this is the largest gathering of MLS staff ever. Lots of discussion on our refreshed strategy with our leaders, coupled with some fun games and quizzes.
